Helping Hands Website

Overview

In this project case study, I will be sharing my experience designing a responsive website designed to make charitable giving easier by allowing users to discover, learn about, and securely donate to charities in one seamless platform. The goal was to create a platform where users can easily donate to a charity that resonates with them, whether locally or globally.

Throughout the design process, I focused on creating an intuitive user interface that would encourage engagement and appeal to donors.

This is an individual project that will allow me to showcase the design process from start to finish as a User Experience Designer.

Process

Breaking down the project

The design process for the Helping Hands website began with user research. I wanted to understand and identify user needs and define the key features that would create a meaningful experience for donors.

Designing with Purpose

Based on this research, I developed user personas and created wireframes to map out the app’s functionality and structure. From there, I built a high-fidelity prototype and conducted usability testing to refine the design and improve the overall experience. My focus was on making it easy for users to find a charity and feel confident about donating. The final design included features like recurring donation options, newsletter sign-up, and tools to easily locate charities.

Refining through feedback

After building the initial design, I gathered feedback through usability studies. This helped me uncover areas for improvement and ultimately led to a user-centered platform that builds trust and encourages generosity.

Takeaways

Working on Helping Hands gave me a deeper appreciation for how thoughtful design can make a real difference. This project challenged me to think through every part of the user journey and stay focused on clarity, trust, and accessibility. In the end, this website gives users the ability to discover charities they care about and support them with confidence. That is what made this project so rewarding.
